Web Presence
Reaching the right audiences with the right message in the right way is increasingly important in today’s information society.
Our mission is to help you present your services and ideas in ways that have the greatest possible impact.
Today, that almost certainly involves a web presence. The image you project online may be the first, or even the only, image your audiences see. It’s critical.
WEBSITES, BLOGS AND SOCIAL MEDIA
Defining an appropriate web presence
Yes, a web presence is important, but defining what that should be and what it will take to establish — and maintain — is a first step that often is done poorly, if at all.
- We work with you to define what web presence is best for you, tailoring the plan to your type of business, your preferences and your budget.
Oversight and interface
Anyone and everyone can have a website or a blog these days, and millions do. Developers and designers, hosting sites and software definitely are not in short supply. But knowing how best to evaluate and work with them is a challenge.
- We serve as the interface between you and the technical experts so that you get what works best for you. We can manage as much or as little of your project as you wish. For an example of a website recently completely, click here.
Content is king
A pleasing design is just another pretty face without good content. Website content — text, images and graphics — must get your message across quickly, accurately and effectively. It must also be pleasing to the gods of the Internet — the search engines.
- We work with you to develop effective content. This includes text, images and graphics.
Design and management of simple sites
Not everyone wants or needs an elaborate website.
- We design and manage simple blogs and websites, for both commercial and non-profit clients. This includes customizing sites and handling the details of keeping it all up to date and working well.
- Examples: a tour company, a non-profit, a freelance editor, an alumnae group, a business owners’ group and the one you are reading now.
For nonprofit groups, we are expert at using Wild Apricot, an online provider that offers a range of membership and contact management tools in addition to a website and blog.
Blogging
Nothing raises visibility better than a blog that is well written, visually attractive and published consistently. But many of our clients discover that this is no easy task.
- We ghost write blogs, on topics ranging from the economics of health care, to quilts with matching stories for children, and just about anything in between. Examples, via RSS feeds, for two of these blogs appear in the left sidebar.
LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter
Each of these social media platforms can be incredibly useful, but they also often are over-hyped and misused. None is worthwhile if not used consistently and appropriately.
- We will help you establish and maintain an effective social media presence on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, actively managing it for you if you wish.
